Create and Manage a Manuscript Workspace

The manuscript workspace is where a book lives: prose, settings, characters, foreshadowing, and pacing all sit in one directory, managed by WorkGoa's ledgers so nothing scatters as it grows.

New book

Creating a book generates a writing-plan document scaffold as a breakpoint for the whole workflow and an interface for your manual oversight. It only fills gaps and never overwrites: a plan you edited won't be rewritten by a tool.

Volumes and chapters

The workspace "repo wiki" is tailored to writing: book overview, volume/chapter structure, character map, foreshadowing and continuity, and progress — all generated directly from the manuscript ledgers. It won't feed whole chapters to the model, so pausing once doesn't spend extra quota.

Auto-finalize chapters (per book, off by default)

When on, a chapter auto-finalizes only if its drift score passes and there are no outstanding high-severity consistency findings; otherwise it stays a draft with a reason. Finalization records who finalized and the threshold, and supports batch backfill and rollback. Decisions run on zero-model hard gates, not model self-awareness.

Deconstruct a completed reference book

Before starting new, you can break down a finished reference book by outline, chapter pacing, and prose style (with per-chapter pacing records), then write to its rhythm and style. The deconstruction uses an independent ledger directory, so reference data never flows into your new book. Switching chapters refuses by default if the target prose directory is non-empty to prevent overwriting.
